Overview

$5000 Cash Prize. 5 Categories. 5 Judges. 5 Winners. $5 to enter.

Five songwriters will receive $1000 each for the best song or lyric in their category. Five finalists in each category will be selected internally and presented to five judges for their votes.

Every songwriter or lyricist that takes part will receive a FREE songwriter contest score card within 30 days of the contest deadline.

Categories & Cash Prizes

You may submit multiple songs and lyrics into five categories:

Singer/Songwriter Category:
$1000 Cash Prize to the Winner

Country/Folk Category
$1000 Cash Prize to the Winner

Pop Category
$1000 Cash Prize to the Winner

Rock Category
$1000 Cash Prize to the Winner

Lyrics-Only Category
$1000 Cash Prize to the Winner

Rules

1. You may submit multiple songs and lyrics into the contest

2. You may submit multiple songs and lyrics into the same category

3. You may submit multiple songs and lyrics into multiple categories

4. You may submit the same song or lyric multiple times into one or more categories

5. Lyrics ("words to music") must be in English

6. The song/lyric can be the product of more than one writer (a "co-write")

7. Sound quality will not be a factor in the judging process

8. No instrumentals

9. Entries must be received by midnight EST on the 1st May 2012

Judging Process

Five finalists from each of the five categories will be selected by We Are Listening staff and presented to five judges for their picks. A free contest score card will be prepared and sent via email to all participants.
