There's a good reason why Kyler has won numerous songwriting awards and garnered such acclaim as being named one of Music Connection Magazine's "Hot Unsigned Artists 2007" and "Best Alternative Rock Album" in the Indie Acoustic Project Awards. With a natural instinct for melody and lyrics, honed during a stint at the renowned Berklee College of Music, she crafts songs that are not only addictively catchy but full of depth. Having studied classical music theory at North Carolina State University and contemporary-pop and jazz at Berklee, Kyler is a self-professed music geek. But her music studies extend far outside the classroom. Over the last few years, she has sharpened her skills through extensive co-writing in Los Angeles, where she currently resides, and in Nashville, including with hit songwriters Dave Berg, Maia Sharp, Eve Nelson, and Kim Richey. Kyler also considers "the road" to have been one of her most important teachers, having played over 150 shows each year for the past 5 years including the Toronto Film Festival, Bele Chere Festival and opening for Sting, Annie Lennox, Melissa Etheridge, and Vienna Teng, to name a few. She has released five records on her own label, Gypsy Rock Records, and has had songs featured on TV shows including Guiding Light, Rollergirls and Zoey 101. Working closely with every artist on the We Are Listening roster, Kyler’s finely tuned ear ensures that the team is always pitch perfect.
