“I Promise It’s Not Goodbye”, the first streaming track on the Chris Cornell website, is the collaborative effort between the former Soundgarden frontman and Rory de la Rosa from Texas, a Cornell fan. Rory lost his six year old daughter, Ainslee, to cancer and was later diagnosed with the same illness. He reached out to Chris Cornell with his story and poem depicting the tragic turn of events which prompted Cornell to put his words to music. The song is part of Cornell’s setlist on his US tour and available as a free download on his website. Fans are encouraged to make a donation when downloading the song which will go toward Rory and his family’s medical bills.
