Who Cares?

I think Seth is suggesting that, if you’re waiting for a so-called music biz whiz to tell you that your band rocks, you’re giving too much power to someone who doesn’t care about your music nearly as much as you do.

well said if you wait for things to happen they never happen

Absolutely right. If you wait for someone else to “approve” or finance your music, it may never get done. We do these things because we have to — something compells us to write songs and/or books. I did a parody golf book callde HOW TO LINE UP YOUR FOURTH PUTT, and my son said his English teacher said it was “not really literature.” (It wasn’t — it was a joke book). I said, “Son, the important thing is … I DID it!” He rememembrs this conversation and says it has helped him in his own endeavors. Then, two years ago, I did my first album. I just did it — lots of time and money I did not have, but I DID it, and I am hopeful I will find the fan base. I know it exists.
And — cool story, not an expected result — I sold 62,000 of those golf books!!

I agree. If you don’t do no one else will. All you can do is fail.

Seth has a great point. With The advances in technology you should go out do whatever you feel is necessary for your own career. And distribute it through the internet and just stay independent.

The only time someone would stop and listen is either if they know you or someone else tells them about you my mission is far more greater cause when you see what I really have in store …..check out the music and different websites show support only we can help one another make a difference

but to write a book or record a album, you need promoters..other wise what is the point.

I think you should write a book or record an album because you love the craft, not because you want someone to promote you.
